Extract stamp ink: the steps
- Choose a scan or photo with a light paper background and a visible ink impression.
- Adjust Paper removal while watching the preview. A higher value preserves lighter ink; a lower value removes more of the paper.
- Check thin lettering and pale parts of the impression, then download the transparent PNG.
This removes light pixels rather than recognizing the shape of a stamp. Shadows, dark paper and nearby handwriting may remain. Keep the original if you need to try another setting.
Crop a stamp imageQuestions about this tool
Can the tool separate a stamp from nearby handwriting?
It removes light pixels rather than identifying a stamp as an object. Dark handwriting, lines and shadows can remain with the impression. Start with a clear source where the stamp has some space around it, then inspect the full result before downloading.
What if light parts of the ink disappear?
Increase Paper removal to preserve lighter ink, then inspect thin strokes and faded letters. There is a tradeoff: preserving more light ink can also keep more of the paper background. Keep the original file so you can try another value without reprocessing a previous result.
Why is there still empty space around the stamp?
Extraction changes transparency but keeps the canvas dimensions. Use the crop tool afterwards if you need a tighter image. Check for stray dark marks near the edge, since they can affect the crop detected around the visible content.
How this tool handles your file
Local processing
The image is processed with browser canvas APIs in this tab. If you need to build the artwork first, start in the online stamp maker.
PNG output
The result downloads as a PNG with transparency preserved when the operation supports it.
