Start with the file you already have.

A scan on white paper usually needs background removal first. A transparent PNG with too much empty space needs cropping instead. For a stamp that looks sideways on the page, rotate it before setting the final dimensions. Keep a copy of the original file so you can try another setting without repeatedly processing the same image.

Resizing a small PNG will not restore missing detail. If you still have an SVG master, use the converter to make a fresh PNG at the required dimensions. To change the actual wording or border, return to the stamp editor; image tools work on the finished artwork.

Choose a short workflow for your source file

A scan with paper behind the ink

Start with background extraction, checking that pale letters remain. Crop the result only after the background is suitable. Dark shadows and nearby handwriting may still be visible, because extraction removes light pixels rather than recognizing the stamp as an object.

An SVG master that needs a document copy

Keep the SVG and use the PNG converter to create the required image size. A fresh raster copy is preferable to repeatedly enlarging a small PNG. Check external fonts and embedded logos in the preview before using the output.

A transparent image that only needs positioning

Use rotation for the angle and crop unnecessary canvas space afterwards. Set the final width and height while keeping the original proportions. Add a solid background only when the destination needs an opaque image; keep a transparent copy for placing over page content.
