A small clothing brand stamps more than it prints. Hang tags and swing tags cut from plain card get the logo on one side and a size or price line on the other. Each order is folded into tissue sealed with a stamped sticker, then slipped into a kraft or paper mailer bag that carries the brand and a returns address. In the stockroom, cartons and poly bags are marked with style number, size and batch, so whoever picks an order can find the right item without opening every box.

This clothing brand stamp maker opens a bold round badge in the editor above, the kind of mark that suits streetwear and workwear labels. Replace the sample lines with your brand name and founding year, test it at 38 mm for mailers and at 25 mm for a hang tag, then add an oval wordmark for tissue stickers. The online stamp maker exports a PNG for printed stickers and an SVG for a rubber stamp or a screen printer, so the tag, the tissue and the mailer carry the same artwork. More badge and emblem layouts sit among the logo stamp templates.

Before you stamp anything that goes on or inside a garment, separate branding from labeling. A logo on a hang tag or a tote bag is yours to design as you like. Care, fiber-content and origin labels are regulated in many markets, and a stamp used for them has to meet those rules as well as survive repeated washing.

Stamps a clothing brand uses

Most labels combine one logo mark for tags and packaging with several working stamps for the stockroom and the dispatch table.

  • Hang tag logo

    NORTHLINE · Workwear since 2019 · @northlinesupply

Stamped on blank card swing tags before they are strung. A 25–30 mm mark fits most tags and leaves the back free for size and price.

  • Tag back

    Size ______ · Style no. ______ · Color ______ · Price ______

The working side of the hang tag. Blank lines let one stamp serve every style and size in the collection.

  • Tissue sticker

    NORTHLINE in a 44 × 22 mm oval

Stamped on sticker sheets that seal folded tissue. One word reads better than a full logo at this size.

  • Mailer bag stamp

NORTHLINE · Thanks for wearing independent · Returns: 480 Foundry St, Portland, OR 97209

For kraft or paper mailers. Stamp the bag while it is flat and empty, so the impression lands evenly instead of over a folded garment.

  • Carton and batch mark

    STYLE NL-204 · SIZE M · BATCH 2611 · QTY 24

On cartons and poly bags in the stockroom. A batch number keeps each production run traceable if a fabric fault turns up later.

  • Sample and inspection marks

SAMPLE · NOT FOR SALE · QC PASSED

For pre-production samples sent to stockists and for pieces checked before dispatch. A single bold word inside an oval is enough.

  • Fabric label artwork

NORTHLINE · Made in Portugal · 100% cotton

A starting point for stamped or printed labels on tote bags and garments. Read the labeling note below before you use it for care or content details.

How to make a clothing brand stamp

  1. 1

    Separate brand and data stamps

List what needs your logo (tags, tissue, mailers) and what needs data (sizes, styles, batches). Logo stamps can be decorative; data stamps need blank lines and plain, upright type.

  2. 2

Match the size to the tag

Measure your hang tag and leave a few millimeters of margin around the stamp. Mailers usually take 38–45 mm; tissue stickers suit a 44 × 22 mm oval or a 30 mm round.

  3. 3

    Fit the wordmark

Set the brand name first and largest, then add one supporting line such as a since-year or city. Check that thin strokes in display fonts stay open at tag size.

  4. 4

    Proof on card and fabric

Print the PNG at 100% on your tag stock. If the mark will go on textiles, test the finished stamp on an offcut and put it through a wash, then export the SVG for production.

Size, ink and file format

Size
Swing tags are often around 50 × 90 mm, so a 25–30 mm logo leaves comfortable margins. Mailer stamps run 38–45 mm, and carton marks fit a 47 × 18 mm rectangle.
Ink color
Black or white on kraft tags is the most legible. A brand color works for tissue and mailers; keep it identical across all of them, since packaging color is part of the brand.
Smallest text
Size and style lines should be at least 2 mm high so they can be read in a dim stockroom. Avoid condensed display fonts for numbers, where 3 and 8 are easily confused.
Files
PNG for sticker sheets and printed tags, SVG for the rubber stamp or a screen-printing or heat-transfer supplier. Compare the PNG and SVG stamp downloads before exporting your final artwork.
Fabric and textile ink
On cotton, linen and canvas, use a permanent textile ink and heat-set it as the ink maker instructs, usually with a dry iron. Ordinary pad ink washes out, and synthetic or coated fabrics need a specialist ink.

Clothing brand stamp questions

Can I stamp my logo inside a T-shirt instead of sewing in a label?

Many brands print the logo at the back neck of tagless shirts. Keep the mark about 30–50 mm wide, centered below the collar seam, and test several washes on a sample before stamping a full run. If the neck print also carries size, care or fiber details, it has to satisfy the labeling rules of your market.

What should go on a hang tag?

The front usually carries only the brand mark. The back holds the working details: style name or number, size, color, price and sometimes a barcode. Stamping the back with blank lines keeps one tag design usable across the whole collection, while the front logo stays the same season after season.

Can I stamp poly mailers or only paper mailers?

Paper and kraft mailers take ordinary stamp ink well. Plastic and compostable poly mailers are non-porous, so they need a solvent-based or multi-surface ink and a minute to dry before handling. Test on a spare bag first, because some compostable films absorb ink unevenly and leave a patchy print.

Should a new brand use stamps or woven labels?

For a first small run, stamped tags and packaging keep costs low and let you change the design freely. Woven labels look more finished and last longer inside garments, but suppliers usually set a minimum order. Many brands start with stamps for tags and mailers, then move to woven labels as volumes grow.

How do I mark sizes on bagged stock?

Use a small oval or rectangle with the size letter large and the style number underneath, stamped on the poly bag before the item goes on the shelf. Keep the stamp in the same position on every bag so a picker can scan a shelf quickly. One stamp per size avoids handwriting errors.
